August 14, 2017
Myth; Age 17
“I want a vacation from this crap..” Myth whispered to herself as her parent’s fought in the kitchen “But what would it ever matter..” she whispered knowing this wasn’t ever going to end. All she had left to hang on to was the heart shaped locket that had a picture of what was once a happy family but never will be again, her parents and her. “Mom and Daddy just won’t stop it, fighting at the drop of a faucet” she whispered to herself as she hid herself between the coats within her small closet. Covering her ears from the arguing, talking to herself through the tears “I wish words where like little toy guns… No kick from the trigger when you pull it, no pain, no damage done..” she whispered “No smoke, no bullets…” she whispered to herself again as she choked on the tears. Home is just a battlefield and school is eight hours of hell. Her parents cared more about arguing than their own child, or at least it felt that way. Her parent’s never had time for her, no one did. All she could say as she tried to calm herself “Wish there was a white flag waving, Or that they were both just faking. And it was just a game they were playing, Like shoot’em up cowboys.
Leave the plastic pistols in the front yard, Throw away the score card. And just turn off all the noise.” but everything came back, everything was “for her” they would claim. “If this was for me… Then why fight..?” she asked herself as eye shadow smeared down her face. “Cuts in the walls, catastrophic..” she whispered to herself as she got out of the closet and started to pack boxes so her parents wouldn’t have to. Shoving her bear trophies from her first hunting lessons within the important boxes, around 30 minutes later she had been finally ready, making a small letter to her parents before grabbing her hunting rifle.
My presence on this earth is not needed any longer, And if anything I hope this
makes you stronger. You’re the best friend that I ever had,
Such a shame I had to make you so very sad. Just remember that you meant everything to me, And to my heart, you’re the only one that held the key.

Now it’s time to go. I’m running out of space to write, And yes I lost my fight , but please just hold on tight. I’m watching over you from the clouds above, And sending down the purest and whitest dove, To watch over you and be my helpful eye.
So this is it world… Goodbye..” the letter read, the little inside her coming out. As she placed the letter on the table with the photo from the locket of the once happy family and next to it, a photo from her first hunt. The black bear that she had been wearing since that day. Driving down to her favorite place in the woods before taking a deep breath and pulling the trigger. “It’s all over, all gone now she’s greeting death..” the spirit of a bear whispered.
